There's No Such Thing as Too Much Fabric!

Today is day 1 of my Amish Country fabric spree. (Okay...my husband doesn't know it's a fabric spree. To him it's a vacation. Tomorrow is actually his day to go to Lehman's Hardware in Kidron, Ohio, so don't worry, girls. I'm not being totally selfish.) My first stop was at Miller's Dry Goods. They boast over 8,000 bolts of fabric. It felt like Disney Land to me!!!

My first purchase was a T-shirt my dear husband actually picked out for me. I loved the saying so much that I made it the title of today's blog entry :)
These are the fabrics I found. This is a Cherry Blossom fabric I picked out especially for Mytien. I hope she likes it for her new iPad.
This lovely Shabby Chic print features delicate roses on a light blue/green background. Unfortunately, there were only 1 1/2 yards left, so I wasn't able to purchase as much as I would have liked to.
I do have a few pink ribbon fabrics available, but I have never seen a pink ribbon damask print. Beautiful fabric for a great cause :)
This toile print is extremely elegant. Even the lady who cut the fabric for me commented on how pretty it is. Can't wait to make some Cozies out of this one :)
This was a person indulgence. Red is my favorite color. It thought the white, butter yellow and light teal blossoms contrasted against the red so nicely.
This batik fabric is so pretty with the pink on brown pattern. Love it!
My new friend, Jackie, told me to find something with bling. Here it is, girlfriend. Unfortunately, the picture didn't turn out well, but if it did, you would see that this white/gray fabric is covered with sparkles.
I liked the next toile fabric so much I bought it in three colors at Zinck's Fabric Outlet. Unfortunately, by the time I got to Zinck's, which boasts over 13,000 bolts of fabric (yes...that's 13 T-H-O-U-S-A-N-D!!!) my husband was getting a little sick of fabric so I shopped quickly. Don't get me wrong--he was very nice about it, but he had reached his limit. lol

Here he is, sitting on our hotel balcony while I took pictures of my haul. He's such a good guy :)

The plan for tomorrow is to get up early and go back to Zinck's (which is only a mile from our hotel) while he is sleeping in. I'll be able to take my time and hopefully find some awesome fabrics. After that it's time for Lehman's Hardware, where I'll be looking at camping gear, axes and old tractors with him :) It's gonna be a good day! :)

It's Raining Cats and Dogs....and Mice!

This has been the week for animal Cozies!

Not every Cozy has a story, but this one does! My new friend, Linda, wanted Expression, E2, and Cuttlebug Cozies made from this colorful cat material, along with a Cozy for her Kindle. Unfortunately, I had less than a quarter yard of it. I looked high and low and found out that this fabric (which I originally purchased at Joann Fabrics) was discontinued. Major Bummer! However, not willing to give up, I did a search for "cat fabric" on Etsy. Forty pages into my search I found it--2 yards of this hard-to-find print. Linda and I were both overjoyed. I got my fabric and she got her Cozies. :) And...it just so happens that these are the only cats I'm not allergic to! :)
When Betsy saw the dachshunds on this fabric, she was hooked! She loves her Cozies so much she decided to order one for a friend. But I better not say any more--it's a surprise! This Cozy is all about fun! The fabric itself displays a collage of comic strips featuring everyone's favorite mouse--Mickey! Although any color would have coordinated nicely with this fabric, I love the red because it matches Mickey's britches. And the two buttons look just like the ones on his pants. I hope Catherine has fun with her Expression and Cuttlebug Cozies!
